From the iPad, Take 643

Hello from the iPad. I’m writing this from this device for the first time in a while. Some of you may know my longstanding desire to do all my computing from the iPad. And I feel like I’m close to being able to do that. But there are a few situations that hold me back. One of them is publishing on the web.
While I already do the majority of my writing on the iPad (currently with iA Writer), I still edit and publish on my MacBook. While Apple plays up the iPad having a “full modern browser”, there are still issues — in particular when it comes to JavaScript, such as the pop-ups on writing programs like Medium and yes, this one: Revue.
Luckily, Revue rolled out a solution today to the pop-up issue (that is, iOS has its own system-wide pop-ups) by making a “pop-down”. Clever girl.
Sadly, the solution still is far from perfect — it’s fairly buggy (which they know — and I think has to do more with iOS Safari than these writing apps) — but it works (with a healthy amount of reloads). And that’s great. One step closer to being able to ditch the traditional computer. But I still think Apple needs an actual point-and-click solution for the iPad.
